After receiving his last disciple, Shakyamuni "entered into silence and joy, and lay down with his head to the north between the two trees. People mourns and laments that the Great Awakening Lord will perish and all sentient beings will be blessed. Shakyamuni comforted everyone by lying on the lion bed on his right side. There are over 50000 Buddhist stone carvings in Dazu, and the most famous one is the reclining Buddha statue in Dafowan, Baoding Mountain. In the Nanmu Forest of Gaoping, there is also a giant stone resembling a reclining Buddha, seemingly reciting scriptures. The surrounding Nanmu trees are like Buddhist believers quietly listening to the sound of Zen, growing strong and thriving.
